I always enjoyed art at school but didn’t do much after I left until the late seventies when I went to an art class to do portrait clay modelling.  I carried on going to classes doing various types of sculpting and one teacher suggested me to do life drawing to help with my figurative sculpting.

Continuing with drawing and painting I never went back to sculpting and clay modelling.  I went on to do A-Level Art in the nineties for my own interest.

In the nineties I also joined the Halifax Art Society and was the Chairman for over seven years until I resigned through ill health and deafness. Art is one of the few things I can do without needing to hear and I enjoy using a variety of mediums.  I use oils, acrylic, pen and ink and occasionally watercolour but oils are my favourite.
