Lynda Thomas

My working life began in 1971 at Kosset Carpets, Brookfoot, as a junior in the design department, transferring a year later to the studios at Crossley Carpets at Dean Clough, Halifax.  Leaving in 1980 to raise a family I then worked in Early Years, first as a Playgroup Leader and later as a Reception Class Assistant.

In 2002 I enrolled at Todmorden College on the HND Fine Art course and enjoyed the student life so much that I joined the degree course, leaving in 2008 with a BA (Hons) Visual Art.

I am a member of the steering group responsible for organising the Open Studios brochure during the annual Hebden Bridge Arts Festival and am currently the Syllabus Secretary for the Halifax Art Society.  I work in Hebden Bridge and have a studio with Brooklyn Studio Group.

I am mainly a printmaker, working in lino cuts and collagraph.  Subject matter is predominately autobiographical, taking child memories, stories and journeys as my inspiration.
