The Halifax Art Society met for a quiet mixed media workshop to try the techniques that Miriam Laville had taught in the previous week.
Here are some pictures from last Friday’s session.
Last Friday Miriam Laville gave a demonstration to the Halifax Art Society on how to create a picture with natural forms in mixed media. To the delight of twenty people in the audience the artist was using a brand new microphone the society had just bought. So we all clearly heard and understood her explanations how to use charcoal, acrylics, oil pastels or a medium new to most – ink pigment blocks.
Next session we are going to practice what we have learned.
Last Friday morning members of the Halifax Art Society had a try at ‘Fantasy Drawing’ guided by Carol Pope, who provided lots of reference material and showed everyone her wonderful drawings.
Here are our attempts…..
The Halifax Art Society group enjoyed practising ‘Painting reflections in water’ . One member brought a mirror along, placed objects on it and that gave again different aspects of the topic.
