We had a very enjoyable workshop on Friday, 26th November, painting and drawing some lovely seed heads – teasels, honesty, cones and others. Some people used watercolour, some used acrylic inks, and some did detailed botanical studies in pen and ink or in soft pencil – a beautiful selection.

Catching up or starting anew
On Friday 19th November, the planned activity couldn’t go ahead for the Halifax Art Society because of illness. However, our secretary was able to send out an email in time and members arrived with work they always meant to finish one day, or with new ideas in their mind.
Materials and magazines are always available and advice too, so we had a great session, as the photos show.

A rubbish still life
On Friday 12th November, our member Jenny Reid led the Halifax Art Society in a workshop dealing with rubbish in a different way before the recycling. It was astonishing to see how skilfully members created pieces of art within two hours.
Light up the Skies
In our meeting on November 5th, many of our members chose pastels when working with the theme of ‘Light up the Skies’.
Foxy visitors
On Friday 29th October the subject of our workshop was ‘Foxes’. Philip and Lynn provided photos of some of their garden’s vulpine visitors as inspiration.
