Following on from our AGM, members brought in a piece/pieces of work they had completed in the last 12 months to show and talk about to the group. Members presented their subject matter, what inspired them, how they felt trying out new mediums and techniques etc. It was a truly inspiring and interesting morning.

A Right Royal Portrait
In celebration of the forthcoming Coronation we attempted to create a portrait or picture connected with this special event. Cakes were provided which certainly helped with our creativity!

A is for Alphabet
And B is for Book.
The workshop, led by Lynda, was about creating an altered book using alphabet stamps, inks, paints, photos etc. This is a recognised art form where an old book is transformed into a new book. Members were asked to bring in a small, unwanted book and Lynda brought in many ideas, examples and items they could use. Some very interesting work was produced.
Oil pastels continued….
On the morning of 21st April we had the chance to complete the pictures we started the previous week or create a new one. Some of the members who had never used oil pastels before found it interesting and fun to try something new.
Oil pastel demonstration
Jake Attree brought in some impressive examples of pictures he has done using oil pastels – some taking several months, even years! He gave a short demonstration of the techniques he uses to create his pictures.
Jake then spent time talking to us whilst we had a go, giving valuable feedback. We had an informative and very fun day with Jake.
