The theme for the workshop on 1st October was ‘Oranges and Lemon’s with members producing some still lifes and drawing inspiration from other images.

Coffee break
On the 8th October, the Halifax Art Society experienced a memorable session, when member Carol Pope introduced us to her idea of painting with strong tea and coffee, enhanced by ground cinnamon and ginger for special effects. You could have heard a needle drop when we concentrated on applying it to watercolour paper.



Going for Gold
At the meeting on Friday morning the Halifax Art Society welcomed Brian Abram, the author of ‘Grandad goes for Gold’. Lynne Hickin, the illustrator, stands next to him on the photo below. The chairman of HAS, Lynda Thomas, is showing the brand new third book in the series. Hannah Cockroft, the world famous Paralympian, is featured in the book.
All proceeds of the sale will continue to go to The Spinal Injuries Association and Back Up.
