Carol led the workshop on 7th April, where members created artwork based on the theme of Spring. Carol brought in photographs, gardening books and some flowers picked from her own garden. Here are some pictures of work in progress.

Kusudama flowers
On the 11th October, the Halifax Art Society experienced a workshop led by Catherine Davis. We learned to fold a Kusudama flower from paper, better known to many people as Origami. With such newly acquired skills we feel ready to produce some unusual Christmas decorations.
On the 25th October Philippa Ashworth will lead a ‘Experimental Landscape’ workshop.
Flowers and foliage working session
The Halifax Art Society had another good meeting last week. Many of our members were inspired to have a go at painting flowers in the style of Tracey Krupianka as demonstrated last week. They were able to take super work home.
On Friday, the 18th October, from 10:30am to 1pm there will be a demonstration by Jane Austin in water colour. Make sure you come on time, as Jane draws usually a good crowd of interested people.
