23rd August 2024 – As part of our Abstract themed August, Dean Clough artist Claire Murray came to show us some techniques for abstracting landscapes. So many methods, equipment and ideas that she brought had made this an amazing workshop, members were all so inspired.

26th July 2024 – Many thanks to Sue Blackwell for bringing her lovely collection of Bonsai trees for members to paint and draw. Sue explained the process for creating bonsai trees and brought in pictures/books about the subject which was fascinating.

5th July 2024 – Members continued to paint more flowers, vegetables and sheds for next year’s allotment calendar. There should be a good selection of paintings representing different seasons of the year to choose from.

7th June 2024 – Victor is the creative therapist at Springhill Hospice in Rochdale and was welcomed back. He brought a collection of African art that he has collected over many years, and gave a brief history of each of the objects. There was a raffle prize to identify which of the objects was created by Victor himself – Christine Keeler won. We all had an enjoyable time attempting to paint in a similar style.
