28th June 2024 – Hilarie organised and led this workshop on the subject of creating artwork using pen and ink. Hilarie brought in some of her worksheets which showed how different pen strokes can create diverse effects such as water, stone, leaves etc. Everyone really enjoyed creating artwork using this method.

21st June 2024 – Philip led this morning’s workshop. He illustrated 2 different methods of creating a tile; one involved creating a shape that you could interlock with itself creating a continuous pattern; the second was to draw 2 curvy lines on a square tile and label the four corners P, A, R and T. The shapes were then cut out and reconnected matching the letters T, R ,A and P. We decided what the resulting shape looked like using our imagination. It was a really interesting, absorbing and fun morning.

14th June 2024 – Lynda led this workshop where members were invited to do portraits of each other using any medium. This was a really enjoyable morning.

7th June 2024 – Victor is the creative therapist at Springhill Hospice in Rochdale and was welcomed back. He brought a collection of African art that he has collected over many years, and gave a brief history of each of the objects. There was a raffle prize to identify which of the objects was created by Victor himself – Christine Keeler won. We all had an enjoyable time attempting to paint in a similar style.
