7th June 2024 – Victor is the creative therapist at Springhill Hospice in Rochdale and was welcomed back. He brought a collection of African art that he has collected over many years, and gave a brief history of each of the objects. There was a raffle prize to identify which of the objects was created by Victor himself – Christine Keeler won. We all had an enjoyable time attempting to paint in a similar style.

23rd February 2024 – Dorothy Ann Simister, an artist from Hebden Bridge, organised and presented today’s workshop based on Kandinsky and his synaesthesia – seeing colours in response to the world around him. We listened to a variety of music and drew the shapes and colours we felt the sounds represented. It was a really enjoyable experience.

26th January 2024 – After learning about Horse in Art last week, Lynne Hickin brought lots of books and ideas for members and led the session. It was a very popular subject and members produced lovely artwork.

5th January 2024 – We had our first workshop of the new year led by Janet and Lynda. Members were asked to illustrate parts of the poem, The Owl and the Pussycat. Lynda gave very interesting information about Edward Lear’s life and Janet brought in lovely examples of work completed by other artists for inspiration.
