7th June 2024 – Victor is the creative therapist at Springhill Hospice in Rochdale and was welcomed back. He brought a collection of African art that he has collected over many years, and gave a brief history of each of the objects. There was a raffle prize to identify which of the objects was created by Victor himself – Christine Keeler won. We all had an enjoyable time attempting to paint in a similar style.

17th May 2024 – Anne gave a very interesting description and demonstration of Chinese brushstroke techniques, outlining the correct materials to use and where to buy them. Anne showed many examples of her work and the book she has published. We first practised painting bamboo shoots using simple, continuous brush stokes – however we soon realised that this is a specialised artform requiring a lot of skill and practice. We all had a very enjoyable morning and look forward to Anne coming back.

26th April 2024 – Today members had a try at watercolour painting inspired by Paul Talbot-Greaves demonstration last week.

19th April 2024 – Our President, Paul Talbot-Greaves, gave a watercolour demonstration using a photograph he had taken in Nidderdale. As always, it was informative, inspiring, and amazing.
