Bonsai Trees

26th July 2024 – Many thanks to Sue Blackwell for bringing her lovely collection of Bonsai trees for members to paint and draw. Sue explained the process for creating bonsai trees and brought in pictures/books about the subject which was fascinating.

Review

White – Learn how to paint the shadows

23 July, 2024 Halifax Art Society

19th July 2024 – The workshop was organised and led by Carol. Members were asked to bring in a white object. Carol brought in examples of her own work and lots of ideas for members on how to paint white objects. It was an enjoyable morning.

Big Butterfly Event

14 July, 2024 Halifax Art Society

12th July 2024 – Lynda, who led this workshop, brought a great variety of butterfly themed ideas/materials for members to try out, including painting butterflies, making a butterfly booklet, creating a collage and making a card. It was a really fun and creative day.

Godfrey Road Allotment Calendar

8 July, 2024 Halifax Art Society

5th July 2024 – Members continued to paint more flowers, vegetables and sheds for next year’s allotment calendar. There should be a good selection of paintings representing different seasons of the year to choose from.

Review

Making Your Mark

1 July, 2024 Halifax Art Society

28th June 2024 – Hilarie organised and led this workshop on the subject of creating artwork using pen and ink. Hilarie brought in some of her worksheets which showed how different pen strokes can create diverse effects such as water, stone, leaves etc. Everyone really enjoyed creating artwork using this method.
