Last Friday a great number of members came to the Halifax Art Society’s AGM. The short and efficient official part was followed by an extended coffee break. Then we enjoyed a superb Powerpoint presentation by Lynne Hickin about last year’s sessions and events evoking quite a few memories.
Last Friday the Halifax Art Society attempted Brian’s challenge to paint a floral bouquet. Six paintings will later go on display for a year at Overgate Hospice, but they will not be for sale. Our Spring Exhibition in Hebden Bridge has now finished with three paintings sold. Not many of our Sunflower canvases sold, but we will keep advertising them and will hopefully have another venue soon to sell them.

The ‘Fruit and Veg’ Workshop at the Friday meeting of the Halifax Art Society was run by Carol Pope.
As well as providing some beautiful fruit and vegetables for us to draw and paint, Carol showed us some lovely examples of her own work to inspire us.
Some excellent work was done, in many different styles, and we were, of course, able to eat the subjects of our artwork afterwards!
