Following on from our AGM, members brought in a piece/pieces of work they had completed in the last 12 months to show and talk about to the group. Members presented their subject matter, what inspired them, how they felt trying out new mediums and techniques etc. It was a truly inspiring and interesting morning.

Tour of Calderdale Industrial Museum
A group of seventeen Art Society members has a guided tour around the Museum with Chairman Bernard Wandsworth on the 4th May. The Society will be having an exhibition in September in the Terry Sutton Gallery at the Museum. Everyone found the tour very informative, interesting and fun.
A Right Royal Portrait
In celebration of the forthcoming Coronation we attempted to create a portrait or picture connected with this special event. Cakes were provided which certainly helped with our creativity!
A is for Alphabet
And B is for Book.
The workshop, led by Lynda, was about creating an altered book using alphabet stamps, inks, paints, photos etc. This is a recognised art form where an old book is transformed into a new book. Members were asked to bring in a small, unwanted book and Lynda brought in many ideas, examples and items they could use. Some very interesting work was produced.
